Three ways to accessorize an LBD this season
I am excited to share with you three ways you can accessorize an LBD. The holiday season is creeping up on us quickly. I love this time of year for its spirit, connection with family and friends, and the time to look and feel fabulous. If you have a busy schedule like me, the holidays only add pressure with more events and less time to prepare. I will show you how to style a basic little black dress with statement accessories and go from day to cocktails to dinner with ease.
There are so many amazing black dresses out there. Pick a style and cut that is right for your figure and then the canvas is yours. Style it and change it up without ever looking like you are wearing the same thing. This black flared dress has simple lines to serve as a backdrop for the statement accessories. It is also a flattering cut for petite frames like myself. The festive season is all about accessorizing, such a great time to venture out and try new things ladies.
In this daytime look, I choose a jeweled statement cuff. The clutch added some contrast and picked up the sparkle from the cuff. I have chosen not to wear a necklace with this and kept the earrings simple. The jeweled cuff plays well with the open and textural feel of the soft suede shoes. The on-trend block heel and lace up gives this outfit a playful element.
As the sun starts to set, my look for evening shifts to contrast, so popular this season, with the LBD. Here I have chosen crisp white cotton cuffs to dress up the look. The matte black clutch highlights the drama of the pleated white cuffs. Cuffs like these were seen all over fashion weeks this season and are such a great accessory to spice up a sweater or any long sleeve top. By adding the sumptuous blue velvet booties with contrasting zip, my simple chain necklace draws the eye down the outfit to the shoes and back up. The white pleated cuffs add drama and edge. Unexpected blue velvet booties, another hot item of this season, ensure this look is memorable.
Last but not least, my favorite look, evening. I have to admit to loving fur. Fur is so luscious and makes me feel oh-so glamorous. Here, the LBD is the backdrop for the white fur scarf, the essence of texture, contrast and surprise. A simple cuff bracelet with cut stones echoes the simple luxury of the fur. A matte clutch in white complements the white scarf. Blue high heeled booties give this outfit a dressed up, evening look. The total effect is elegance with a touch of drama.
I hope this has been helpful for you to see how you can look fabulous this holiday season in less time and with less stress. Let me know if you have tried these looks and how you have made them personal with your own pieces. I look forward to hearing from you.
