How to rock a wide legged pant this season
Slim pants have held court for years now, and while a slim leg will never go out of style, I’m making the case for a pant with a little more drama, the wide legged pants.
The wide legged pants, is the optimal figure flattery. They sit nicely and seamlessly across the waist, while falling away on the hips and thighs, creating a long and lean silhouette. The perfect illusion of mile-long legs for shorter ladies like myself.
Be mindful when choosing a wide legged pants, even though extremely figure featuring, design details like front pockets or a high waist, will draw attention to the midsection, so be cognizant of these added details if you’re trying to conceal your midsection. Instead, look for a tailored waistband, which will provide structure and flatten. My pants are serving a double duty in lengthening my frame. The pattern is helping to create that extra illusion of extreme heights.
The secret to pulling of wide legged pants with confidence is the high heel. Aim for a style that strikes the right balance between a modest heel height and just enough of a platform that the pant leg drapes nicely over the front of the shoe, without creating a fold in the fabric. My Michel Vivien T strap pumps, worked perfect for this look. It added elegance and the needed height.
When incorporating flares into your arsenal, it’s important to be strategic about blouse pairings. The wrong cut will swallow your frame and hide your shape, while right one will result in a modern, figure-flattering outfit. My choice of the sharp shoulder crop top is a great example of how the right top adds definition to the curves. Opt for boxy style tops that hit at the waist, I included a few option in the shop the post section for you to choose from. To me the wide legged pant will always be a favorite bottom. It is the secret weapon in creating the mile long legs and the ideal curves. The set I am wearing was purchased on my trip to Moscow from a Russian designer, it was love at first sight. I found some similar lovely options for you to look at. The modern plastic Black and White drop earring and oversized sunnies completed my fun, edgy look.
