Is Museum Of Ice-Cream in San Francisco For You?
I scream, you scream, we all scream for the Museum of Ice-cream.
The Museum of Ice-Cream that opened last September has been on my wish list of places to visit! I am lucky to recently score a few tickets to this colorful castle that transforms your childhood dreams into a picturesque reality of ice-cream toppings and sweet treats. For me the experience is so worth the hype and here is why.
First of all, the San Francisco pop-up is housed in a historic landmark buildingt in the heart of downtown, at One Grant Avenue. This building is close to my heart as I spent endless hours of fun in the Emprio Armani cafe. Previously, the cafe it was a bank. To have this art installation in such a beautiful building is a big plus for tourists and SF locals.
Secondly, each room is literally a sweet treat. Weather you are looking for an interactive experience or an actual treat in your hand and tummy, the Museum of Ice-cream provides it all. From a photo central gummy room, to a unicorn ride, to a sprinkle pool and swings our senses were stimulated and satisfied at all times.
Finally, MOIC is a photo central. Literally every nook and corner of each room is a background for a photo-junkie like myself. It is a bit challenging though as there are so many people waiting to take a photo after you. So get your poses right:) Tip wear something white or pink to the museum, you will thank me later. I went with a friend and three kids. If I had a choice that day, I would have done it without the littlest one. The space is tight so maneuvering the baby and setting him down for each picture was challenging. But the girls LOVED it.
Snagging a ticket is hard, but possible. Follow Museum of Ice-cream on Social Media and sign up to their newsletter, and you can snag a ticket. A tip, once you get them, you have to come for that spcific time which can not be changed.
So go ahead and get your ‘treat-on’ at the Museum of Ice-Cream in San Francisco and decide if this magical place is for you. I would love to hear what you thought of the experience.
