Holiday Outfit Ideas Plus All About The Statement Belt

Statement Belt

It has been a while since I posted some outfit inspirations, so I decided to share a few vibrant looks for this end of the year post. Maybe they will inspire you to try something new and different. With the Holiday season in full swing, there are plenty of reasons to get dressed up for.

This first look I wore to a casual Holiday gathering.  To keep it festive, but not over the top, I chose to pair a green pleated skirt with a bulky sweater in a red. The fun pattern on the sweater adds an exciting element to a green and red pairing. The accessories pulled the look together, wrapping a statement belt with this pairing truly elevates this otherwise casual duo.

I have been debating to try the sock and sandals trend.  It is a tricky pairing and will not work for everyone. The socks have to fit just right, while the sandals have to show off enough of the sock. Thankfully my mother Tatiana gifted me with skinny and long ankles. You need the calf length to pull off this unusual pairing. I just had a conversation with another major fashionista about this trend and we both agreed it is a hard look for all leg types to pull off. Living in Califonia this is a unique way to add that “colder” weather layer and edgy touch to your ensemble.

Now, let’s talk about the statement belt and why I suggest you invest in one this season. Belts are in and belts are powerful! You will be surprised a belt might be all you need to change up your existing garments.

Statement belts are not only going to add definition to your frame but it will jazz up anything you are wearing in seconds. I will confess my collection is vast, but this black one gets most wear for its waist synching qualities and big golden details.

Belt needs to be looked at as a major accessory that is a game changer. The power of belt should not be underestimated, throw it over a plain top or dress and it will elevate the look momentarily. This season belts are in and the freedom of choice of how and over what to wear it around is yours. Used with dresses, coats, denim, shirts, blouses, skirts or tops the possibilities are endless. Here a few looks to get you inspired on how to wear them. I suggest investing in something like this vintage Escada belt. You will not regret the new level of quality it will provide to your ensemble.

Belts are finishing touches that bring an ensemble to the next level. Fun, experimental, superfluous, but welcome add-ons. These accessories are the cherries on top of your outfit sundaes!

Happy  Holidays and Keep Styling,

Olia

  1. I LOVE that skirt in your first series of pictures. It’s funny because my husband and I were JUST discussing belts the other day. I am 23-weeks pregnant so I was trying to go for the cute “above the bump belt look”. He looked at me questionably and, after looking at myself, decided it was not a look for me 🙂 🙂 I’ll have to get back in my belt game once Baby Girl arrives 🙂
