My 3 Favorite Places to Shop for Clothes in Sacramento

Sacramento has grown so much in the three years I have lived here. With a move to any new town, one has to learn their way around for best places to shop, eat, kids activities and more; this was not different for my move to Sacramento in 2016. With three years here I certainly have found my favorites. So I am starting this series to share with you my top three Oliamoda choices.

I have my own approach to shopping for clothes. If you followed me for a while you know I love vintage, unique and well-made items. The Sacramento area is most known for its vast shopping mall options. There is no lack of Nordstrom racks and TJ maxes which occasionally are perfect for that special find, but these department stores are not what you should remember about Sacramento’s shopping scene.

These three shops have a place in my heart and in my wallet:

Racks Vintage Boutique

I wrote about Racks before and I will say it again. Racks is hands down the best vintage boutique this side of The Bay. Rachel, the store owner, is a total personality and knows a thing or two on clothes and fashion trends. Her store ranges from the 1920s to 2000s and the items are very carefully curated and really well priced. This shop is my go-to for unique dresses and jumpsuits. The one in the cover image above is one of my favorite finds.

Renaissance Fine Consignment

This place is a hidden gem of Sacramento with high-end luxury consignment items ranging from Channel, Gucci, Hermès, Oscar de la Renta, Louis Vuitton, and Yves Saint Laurent just to name a few. The owner has another store in San Diego and is lucky to have such a great team working for her In Sacramento. These ladies are wonderful at customer service and have the eye for display. I can spend hours sifting through their racks of clothes and one of a kind goodies. Truth is, I never leave emptyhanded. Whether you are looking for a gala gown or a Hermes scarf for your next getaway, this is a place to go.

Together Midtown

This coop space holds two boutiques, a photo studio, atelier, florist and a hair salon. Yes, all of these businesses in one space and it all makes sense. Community is at the root of everything they do at Together Midtwon. The energy inside is bright and the best part the two boutiques are like the Yeng and the Yang. You will find boho-chic items by boutique owner shop The Purpose. Here they pick brands that are sustainably sourced yet very on trend. The other boutique, Pomegranate sells a range of higher end brands as well as quality basics for kids and women. The cutest, softest cotton PJs I ever bought for my son Kai is from here.

So next time you visit the Capitol of California make sure to pop into one or all of these places and pick yourself an item or two that will be uniquely you.

Thank you for reading and keep styling,

  6. These look really cool! I am such an impatient shopper that I don’t look long enough to find cool things! Together Midtown looks amazing though — I might have to give my patience a try again if I am in the area!

I could go for a super soft pair of jammies. My daughter is expecting in March and it would be the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for her.
