Velvet is back yet again and here is how I elevated this trend for fall
Last Fall the trend of the season was defiantly, velvet. This trend is undoubtedly here to stay. Expect this trend to take a more elevated persona. This time around it’s more luxurious, more colorful and versatile than ever. It is s one of those few materials that is sure to add glamour to your outfit.
With the festive season fast approaching you are not going to regret investing into a velvet garment if you do not already own one. Today I am sharing with you a statement maker, a velvet coat.
Velvet comes in different textures, it can me made out of synthetic or natural fibers. To get the quality piece without the price tag follow my steps and search for a velvet garment in a vintage store. You could even ask your mother if she has any treasures she could spare. The beauty of vintage items is that they come with a lot of history, but are most always featured in high quality fabrics. You can always alter details to add a touch of modern current day vibe to a vintage item. I ended up replacing the buttons on this fabulous jacket and shortening the length to fit my petite frame.
The luscious green color and long tailored cut make this a hot garment on so many levels. Not only does it have the current vibrant hue, but it is also scores a long tailored cut that will look great with so many looks. Imagine rocking it with a graphic tee and a pair of high waisted denim for a chic but casual Sunday brunch. Or keep it classic and striking over a cocktail dress for one of the many gatherings ahead.
Try a daring pairing by adding fur to the velvet look. I chose to pair this sheep haired backpack with the coat and love how it turned out. Feminine, edgy and striking all at the same time. A fur collar is another way to add glamour to your velvet look.
I am ready to see this trend in action yet again, are you?
