How I styled my baby boys sophisticated nursery

As I am sitting here counting days and minutes until the arrival, I realize this might be my last post until I get back into the swing of things again. Since shooting outfits is honestly the last thing on my agenda at 40 weeks pregnant, I am happy to share how I am styling the nursery for our little man to come.

When we bought this house, the guest room came painted with these thick blue stripes. Even though a great paint job, I was not sure what to think about them at first. We left it be until we knew a baby boy is on his way.

I could not be happier to have them as the base for my boy’s nursery. They added so much character and a very unique element to the room. The crib and changing table were a hand me down from his big sister. I knew I wanted to bring in a few modern and chic element to make this a current and cozy looking nursery.

nurseryThe one big purchase to make for any nursery is the chair. After all it is the item that gets the most use; especially in the first year! We looked for a while but nothing struck us in the standard recliner chair department. My hubby and I found this gorgeous option in West Elm and after sitting it it I knew this chair was the one. It twists and turns and has a very comfortable neck support in case I nap in it. Plus it is deep enough to snuggle both of us and even Yana.

When our God Momma gave us this teepee for Yana, I knew I wanted it to be in the  nursery. This way there is a place for her in the room. I think it is important to have this option for my girl as she adjusts to the new arrival as to not feel excluded. It fits right in with the stripped theme and the rest of the decor pieces. A couple of final touches like the lamp and the cowhide rugs helped me to create a sospticated nursery with a cozy feel.

I am thrilled with how the nursery turned out! Now lets get this baby in my lap and out of my belly.

Thank you for reading and keep styling.
