Exclusive Preview of Diane Von Furstenberg’s New Collection and DVF Studio x San Francisco Event

I am so honored by my recent invitation to view Diane Von Furstenberg’s new collection at a pop-up event and style an outfit. She is such a fashion icon of mine. I admire DVF for her philanthropy, empowering women and finding new ways to connect with her customers. The event took place at Fort Mason in San Francisco. Her team transformed an industrial space into a multidisciplinary pop-up that melds creativity, innovation, technology and fashion. The space was full of color, texture and that unmistakable DVF flare. It was a collaboration between her and another iconic brand, Levis. An unlikely pairing that sparked such creativity! Fashionistas could choose classic Levis denim imprinted with vibrant and colorful prints designed by DVF to create a completely customized pair of jeans.

In today’s post, I want to focus on DVF’s new Spring 2018 collection, and an outfit I styled from it. The collection is full of luxurious fabrics, mix of prints and fun textures. DVF has always inspired me with how she highlights the female form, in various shapes, with fabrics that float across the body. After all, she is the one behind the most flattering dress of all, the wrap dress.

My style is very influenced by bold colors and patterns, and very much in line with the direction of the Spring collection. I am also a big fan of animal prints, so when I saw this pencil skirt I looked no further. This midi-length pencil skirt features their custom Belmont print in camel, a leopard print with neutral colors and a compelling foundation to mix and match colors. The cut and the generous slit on the back give this classic piece an edgy twist. Plus, the blue stitching inside adds to the fabulous detailing of her line.

Instead of opting for an obvious pairing like a turtleneck sweater, I chose this flowy long sleeve, cross body tie blouse. I love how the thick tie and the back detail give this look the crisp edginess it deserves. The blouse is a match for many bottoms this festive season. Can’t wait to rock it with some high waisted flare pants. I also  love how the skirt and the tie in the back accentuate your assets in all the right places. Furthermore, a pair of these chunky modern pumps and a vibrant red purse elevate the look to a different level.

Some of the other items I fell in love with from this collection are the colorful furs and statement purses. Even though one of these furs is a great layer with such a skirt, I chose a velvet coat and threw over a long fur scarf to complete the striking ensemble.

Thank you DVF for sponsoring this fabulous outfit.

Thank you for reading and keep styling,

Olia
